The Muncy Luminary
July 24, 1902
A number of boys from town were camping along Muncy Creek near Sprout's Island. Those who composed the party were George Green, George Banzhaf, William McCarty, William Kelchner, Clyde and George Koll, Clayton Snyder and John Winter.
The Hughes store base ball team of Montgomery crossed bats with the Normal team Saturday score, 8 to 10 in favor of the visitors.
The brothers, William L. and John Pewterbaugh are each beginning the cellar for a residence between Pennsdale and Harley Hall, Beaver Egley intends to build on a lot adjoining the one owned by John Pewterbaugh. William L. has already finished a barn on his lot.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Desmond Reed, on Monday, a son. To Mr. and Mrs. John M. B. Petrikin at Greely, Col., on Monday, a daughter.
One of the finest catches of bass made in the river this season was made on Saturday by George and David Crawford. They caught five bass, weighing from 2 to 2 and one half pound a piece. They were beauties, all right, and made many of the older fisherman envious.
Fred Taylor, an employee of the Sprout-Waldron Company, suffered an accident last Thursday in which he sustained a broken arm.

C. Daniel Fisher, of Muncy, was the recipient on May 30 U.S. patent entitled "Pellet Cooler".
Five of Muncy high school's seven majorettes are currently attending the annual Red Lion Twirling Jubilee at Red Lion. They are:Judy Springman, Sue Worthington, Judi Anderson, Nancy English and Candy Carlucci.
Miss Beverly Hall of Muncy wed on June 5 to Edwin T. Hayhurst.
Miss Donna Hyde wed Charles L. Sherwood on June 10.
Miss Connie West, of Picture Rocks, will wed James Maust, of Muncy, on June 23.
Visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stiger, of Hughesville, are Lt. Donald Peters, Mrs. Peters and infant son, Gregory Michael.

James E. Gruver, son of Mrs. Clarence Yarger and the late Harold E. Gruver of Montgomery, is chief of the Procedures and Study branch of the Federal Highways Administration in Washington D.C.
Borough council met July 8 and discussed a contract with Thomas R. Deans Associates for a feasibility study of the restoration project at Penn Hall apartments.
Jere Boyer of Hughesville heads the cast in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "South Pacific" at the Community Arts Center.

Spending five days repairing homes for the Arapaho Indians at the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming were representatives of the First United Methodist Church in Muncy.
