Montgomery man charged with stealing brass rings

By Staff | Aug 27, 2013

A Montgomery man ended up in trouble with the law and landed in jail after an ex-girlfriend, removing some of his personal belongings from her house on Sixth Avenue in the city, came upon numerous brass rings that the former boyfriend allegedly stole from his employer, city police said.

Police were alerted after the stolen rings were discovered inside a home at 631 Sixth Ave. on Thursday.

Police have accused Glyn Thompson, 36, formerly of Fitchburg, Mass., with stealing the rings from FTS International, 3300 Wahoo Dr., where he worked earlier this year.

Thompson, now unemployed, directed officers to the trunk of his girlfriend’s car, where they found 40 additional brass rings stolen from the business.

Charged with one felony count of receiving stolen property, Thompson was arraigned late Thursday night before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley and initially committed to the Lycoming County Prison, but he has since been released on $25,000 bail.
