Workmen are engaged in painting and finishing the new store room of Noble & Peterman.

Harry Corson, champion 5-mile skater of Muncy, is ready at any time to compete with any skaters in the county for any amount.

Rev. A.W. Gibson entered upon is second year's pastorate of the M.E. church last Sunday.

The school in East Muncy, first grade taught by Wm. E. Nickels, second grade by Mrs. E. Bastian, closed on Friday last with appropriate exercises.

Married-On March 24 by Rev. .S. Cressman, at the residence of Robert Huston, near Pennsville, R.E. Huff, of Muncy, to Miss Amanda Lilley, of Clinton township.

Married-In Williamsport, on the 13th inst., Thomas H. Walton to Miss Cara Rooker, both of Muncy; On the 21st., John C. Eaton and Miss Susan Stohler, both of Muncy; On the 28th inst., George Furman, of Penn township, and Miss Mary Doane, of this place.

Water was let into the canal last week.

Burglars entered the stores of R.M. Green &Bro., Peterman & Son, and George Gowers & Son, Wednesday night. Tools used in effecting an entrance were taken from the carriage shop of Gable Bros. The new school building was also entered.

The first "heat" at the new foundry of Winegardner & Co., on East Water street, will be run off in a few days.

The G.B.M. Frey building on North Main street, is rapidly nearing completion.

A pretty home wedding was celebrated last WEdnesday, March 21, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rentz, on Market street, when their daughter, Grace, became the bride of Harry Whitmire.

Miss Annie Shipman and Frank Smith were united in marriage Saturday evening.

Miss Lulu M. Kurtz, of North Bend, and Alba I. Botts, of Williamsport, were united in marriage on Saturday afternoon.

The Oak Grove school house, about three miles north of Newberry, was demolished Tuesday afternoon when struck by a cyclone which prevailed in that locality. Nearly all the children were more or less injured, some rather seriously, when the roof crashed through the ceiling and pinned them to the floor among their desks.

Died: Amos Poust, 55, of Muncy; Sarah Wallis, Pennsdale, last Wednesday; Michael Joyce, Pennsdale, 68, Friday evening.

After toying around all winter long with piddlings of snow wile the rest of the state was deluged, the weatherman finally caught up with the area. His crippling blow came in the 12 hour period Monday, March 6, to Tuesday, March 7 and arrived in the form of a 14-inch snowfall which for a time paralyzed all activities.

Hughesville stalwart Clyde Frantz at 138 pound and Muncy's determined Dana Balum at 133 pounds spearhead a bumper crop of six District Four wrestlers who obtained regional titles last Saturday and earned a shot at state championships.

Mrs. Fred Eshleman, of Muncy, was selected as Mrs. Lycoming County and will compete in the state finals of the Mrs. America Pageant on March 9 and 10.

Miss Nellie Ruth Perkins, of Houston, Texas and James Mathers, Muncy, married Feb. 25.

Marriage of Miss Louise Anne Wert, Muncy, to Howard D. Koup, of Paoli, Feb. 25.

Miss Diana Marie Flock and John B. Winder, both of Muncy, exchange vows on March 4.

Two Hughesville high school graduates are among recent enlistees in the Air Force-Arthur C. Shaner and Delancey Eugene Roupp, Jr.
