Died-IN this borough, Aug. 13, Anna M., daughter of George Roberts, aged 19 years; In this borough, Aug. 13, Thomas Benton, son of Samuel Gornter, JR., aged nine years.

Muncy Markets-Potatoes, bushel, 25 cents; ham, 15 cents; eggs, 10 cents.

A post of the Grand Army of the Republic to be known as the Col. John D. Musser Post, No. 66, was instituted in this place Friday evening.

Edward Kerr, the horseshoer, is erecting a shop in the alley in the rear of John H. Rooker's tailoring establishment.

Charles Narber has put down a substantial new pavement in front of his houses on South Main street.

Capt. Lloyd has just finished a new song of praise (music and words) for the Bush Meeting to be held in Bowman's Grove, near the Muncy Station, under the management of Rev. Jacob Miller during the first week of September. The piece is being rehearsed by the Trout Pond choir.

Died-In Muncy Creek township, Aug. 6th, George Guyer, aged 75 years

The race at the Union Rink last Saturday night was won by H. Corson.

The Lutheran Sunday school picnic was held at Tivoli lat Thursday. The party went up by a special train at 8 o'clock.

Lewisburg defeated Muncy last Wednesday in a base ball game by the score of 3 to 2.

There are between 400 and 500 people at Eagles Mere this month.

Muncy Main St. A Bad Parking Place For Automobiles-Especially on Saturday Night-Lack of Serous Accidents Due to Good Luck

During the heavy storm that passed over this section Monday afternoon the barn on the Villa Grove farm near Hughesville, belong to William Hill, was struck by lightning and totally destroyed by fire, together with all its contents.

Dr. J. L. Mansuy, of Ralston, was shot and wounded by an automobile bandit at a point on the Lycoming creek road about two miles this this side of Ralston Wednesday morning. The desperado is said to be Walter A. Tress, an escaped convict from the Bellefonte penitentiary.

Captain Benjamin Renn, U,S. A., is visiting his mother, Mrs. Silas Renn.

Maurice Stover, wife and son, of Montgomery; William Crawford and wife, and Harvey Dimm and wife, of Muncy, returned last Friday from a motor trip through Maryland and Virginia.

Died: George Horan Anderson, son of C. Orvil Anderson and Bessie Signor, died at the home of his parents in Williamsport on Sunday, aged ten years; Mrs. Lydia A. Seidel, Muncy native, died at her home in Milton on Monday morning after a long illness.

Twenty-year old Stephen Gramley, spending the summer in New York state as a camp counselor, was one of five persons killed in a head-on automobile accident last Saturday night, July 29, in a catastrophe described as the greatest tragedy in the history of Silver Bay, N.Y.

Lieutenant commander Wilbur B. Hale, of Muncy, has become Surface Division 4-59's permanent commanding officer.

A note from Robert (Skinner) McManigal informs us that his father-in-law, Parker Rogers, now 85, enjoyed his first plane ride on July 4. Pilot of the Piper Cherokee in which he rode was 19-year old Ricky Rogers, son of former Muncy resident Kenneth Rogers.

Miss Ronda Kay MacGregor, exchanges vows with David A. Ihrig, of Muncy, on July 15.

Debra and Karen Nelson, Picture Rocks, are visiting their grand parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Forrest Nelson, at Harvey's Lake.

The Mains Street, Muncy, home of Crist and Alicia Myers was severely damaged by fire last Thursday.

The Rev. D. Gene Patterson, pastor of Muncy Baptist Church, was recently installed as Chaplain General, of the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution (S.A.R.).

Air Force Lt. Col. Stephen B. Frye has assumed command of the 57th Airlift Squadron. His wife, Jennifer, is the daughter of Rosemary Treese, of Hughesville.

Danielle Lynch and Misty Barto, both of Montgomery, were chosen as the queen and princess of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Co. centennial celebration.

Births: Heather S. Phillips and Corey Lloyd of Hughesville, daughter, Aug. 3; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wagner, Muncy, daughter, Au. 7; Mr. and Mrs. Kimber Showers, Hughesville, son, Aug. 5.
