Eleanor Oberdorf, 92, a resident of Muncy, PA, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 in the UPMC Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

Born Monday, June 8, 1925 in Washington Township, Lycoming County, PA she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary Edna (Bigleman) Bastian. Eleanor was the widow of John G. "Jack" Oberdorf, Sr. who preceded her in death on March 19, 2007. They had been happily married for over 63 years.

She was a 1943 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School. Eleanor and her husband were the proprietors of the former Oberdorf's Citgo where she was the manager of the restaurant. Jack went on to be the Chief of Police in Muncy for many years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Muncy where she was a former Sunday School teacher. Eleanor enjoyed poetry, writing, spending time with her family, gardening, cooking and traveling.

She is survived by four children, John G. and wife Tina Oberdorf, Jr. of Pennsdale; Lorraine M. and husband Terry Lynn of Muncy; twin sons, Jeffrey L. and wife Tracey Oberdorf of York and Jerry L. and wife Wendy Oberdorf of Marysville. She is also survived by one sister, Phyllis Jean and husband Bill Kennedy of Montgomery; two sons-in-law, Kim Knight and David Farley; 21 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce Farley; Carol Knight; two sisters, Eva Georgine Baker; Wanda Elaine Pentz; two brothers, George Irvin Bastian and Charles Ramon Bastian.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Muncy First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market Street, Muncy with the Reverend Arlene P. Beechert, her pastor officiating. Friends called at the church on Friday from 1-2 p.m. Interment was in the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Cemetery.
