Area athletes earned Pennsylvania Football Writers All-State honors

Area players were selected to the all-state teams. In Class A, Muncy's Mike Kustanbauter and Dylan Wilt earned all-state honors, and Montgomery's Rhyle Strausbaugh also was selected.

Kustanbauter recorded a state-high 205 tackles and became the first area players in the 2000s to reach 200 tackles in a season. He also averaged a district-best 15.8 tackles per game, recorded three sacks and intercepted a pass as Muncy held all three playoff opponents to fewer than 20 points. The three-year starter also ran for a team-high 677 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Wilt earned all-state honors as an athlete after putting together an outstanding season as a wide receiver safety. The senior became just the second player in program history to reach 1,000 yards, catching 46 passes for 1,005 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging 21.9 yards per catch. Wilt topped 100 yards six times and scored three playoff touchdowns. He also intercepted seven passes and was among the team's leading tacklers.

Montgomery's Strausbaugh,broke the single-season for tackles, finishing with 172 and averaging 15.6 per game. The senior linebacker reached at least 13 tackles in each game, forced a fumble that led to a comeback win against Muncy, recorded three sacks and returned an interception for a touchdown. Strausbaugh also totaled 491 yards and six touchdowns while being a kicker.
