Montgomery Locals 8/21/2019

The Montgomery Area Public Library's Summer Reading Program has come to an end, and many congratulations to the children who won prizes for

having read the most books. The kids kept track of the books they finished on reading logs that were provided by the library, a tradition

that has been going on for many years. However, a new twist was added this year because a drawing was held for new bicycles. A plastic

container was on display for each bicycle with a photo and some information about each bike, so each child got to choose which bicycle

they wanted to enter their tickets for. The kids who won bicycles were: William Kaminski, Nathan Bryan, Kylie

Beck, Ben Michewicz, and Emily Herb. The children who won the Reading Log contest were: Joshua Evans, Maria

Evans, Ali Herb, Brayden Herb, and Ezra Jutsum. They each won a big basket packed with goodies that included toys and books.

In addition to the winners, every child who handed in a reading log received a prize.

While the Summer Reading program was a big success with many happy winners, the library is asking for feedback from local children. Please

go to the library and have your child complete the survey and they will receive a free book as a thank you.

Congratulations to all of the children who participated in the 2019 Summer Reading program. Taking the initiative to read and learn will

serve you well throughout your life. No doubt this year's program will provide you with warm memories. I know that I look back fondly on my

childhood summer days participating in the Summer Reading program at the Montgomery Library.

Many thanks to librarian Nicole Loffredo and assistant librarian Cynthia Bryan for all of their hard work and planning to make the Summer Reading

program a success!
