Muncy Locals Nov. 13, 2019

Despite temperatures hovering in the lower 20s, our Muncy Indians football team had fire burning in their bones during the D4 District Title championship game last Friday. As frost formed on Canton's playing field, Muncy turned up the heat, singed the Canton Warriors 23-19, catapulting themselves to play Millersburg D3 champs. At press-time, kickoff was scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16. Let's show our school spirit pride and support the team by packing the stadium!

Wednesday, Nov. 13-Huntersville/Pennsdale Sr. Citizens will meet at noon for a tureen dinner at Pennsdale United Methodist Church. Please bring table service and a dish to share and non-perishable food items for the Son Light House. Entertainment will follow. New members always welcome.

Thursday, Nov. 14-2020 Census Recruitment at Muncy Public Library, 1-4 p.m. Stop by during these hours with questions or help about applying to become a 2020 census agent.

Saturday, Nov. 16-Second annual Bingo Bonanza at the Muncy VFW, benefits Muncy Public Library . Doors open at 11:30 a.m., bingo begins at 1 p.m. Only 150 tickets available. Check their Facebook page for more details.

Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 2-4 p.m., Muncy Public Library, knit and crochet for beginners and experts. Bring your supplies and join other community members in making scarves for our cold weather "chase the chill" scarf donation project.

Son Light House, Senior food distribution, 130 Carpenter Street, Muncy, first and third Wednesdays, 8:30-noon and first and third Thursdays, 4 to 7 p.m. Distribution is scheduled for Nov. 20-21. Donation hours are every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, 7-10 a.m., food, clean usable seasonable clothing, toys, and furniture only at this time.

Wednesday, Nov. 20-The Muncy Woman's Club's next meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 602 South Market Street. The program topic is "Nutrition and Getting Through the Holidays," presented by Rose Trevouledes, MS. RD, LDN.

Wednesday, Nov. 20-Book Fair family night at Ward L. Myes Elementary School, 6-8 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 20-Band and chorus concert, 7 p.m., Muncy High School auditorium.

Sunday, Nov. 24-Community Thanksgiving Worship Service, 7 p.m., FUMC, 602 South Market Street. Sponsored by the Churches of the Muncy Ministerium.

Nov. 27 through Dec. 2-Holiday break for Muncy School District students.
