Muncy Locals

Even though the June Sunday Brunch Farmer's Market was June 14, what a success for its first time! The public began arriving a half hour before the event officially launched, and within that 30 minutes, lines 30 people deep had formed at all food stands. An estimated 500-plus crowd attended the venue, which was held on the former carnival grounds. Over 25 artisans and vendors displayed their wares. Brooke Bishop and Greg Stine, owners of the property, Basil Wood Fired Kitchen have performed a fabulous job of preparing the property, which hasn't been utilized to its full potential in well over 15 years, in my estimate. What a welcome sight to see the northeast section of the borough bustling with commerce and social activity. The next event is Sunday, July 12, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

With thoughtful consideration for what is best for the community and public health, the Muncy Historical Society's board has elected to cancel three of their annual events: the quilt show (July 10-11), the POPS at Pepper Street concert (Aug. 8), and the Muncy Cup golf tournament (Aug. 22). In late August/early September, the board will make a decision regarding the November 13-14 art show.
