MR., MRS. GEORGE McGARVEY

Mr. and Mrs. George McGarvey, Hughesville, observed their 40th wedding anniversary on July 18, 2010.

They were married by the Rev. Amos Harnish at Community Baptist Church, Montoursville.

Mrs. McGarvey, the former Donna Guthrie, is the daughter of Betty Guthrie, Hughesville, and the late Roy Guthrie. She graduated from Montoursville Area High School and is the owner of Donna’s Gifts and Gallery, Hughesville.

Mr. McGarvey is the son of the late Bernice and George McGarvey. He graduated from Montoursville Area High School and the former Williamsport Area Community College, now Pennsylvania College of Technology. He is employed by Penn Recycling.

They are the parents of two sons, Brian, Loyalsock Township, and the late Michael, and a daughter, Jessica Wright, Williamsport. There are two grandchildren and one is expected in August.

In honor of their anniversary, the couple took a trip to Las Vegas.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald D. Curley, Muncy, observed their 40th wedding anniversary July 18, 2010.

They were married by the Rev. Graham Freeman at Muncy Baptist Church.

Mrs. Curley, the former Susan M. Koch, is a native of Muncy. She is the daughter of the late Margaret and Sterling E. Koch. She graduated from Muncy High School in 1969 and was employed by GTE Sylvania, Springs Window Fashions and Weis Market.

Mr. Curley, a native of Muncy, is the son of the late Ann and Elmer L. Curley. He graduated from Muncy High School in 1965. He retired as a sergeant first class after 30 years in the Army Reserves. He was employed for 23 years as a Department of the Army civilian and now is employed as an Army contractor, operating the military ID card center in Williamsport.

They are the parents of two daughters, Alicia M. Catherman, Danville, and Ryan L. Taylor, Winnabow, N.C. There are four grandchildren.

MR., MRS. G.SCHELL

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Schell, Muncy, observed their 40th wedding anniversary July 3, 2010.

They were married by the Rev. Russell A. Flower at Zion Lutheran Church, Turbotville. They are members of First United Methodist Church, Muncy.

Mrs. Schell, the former Sandra Feigles, is a native of Muncy. She is the daughter of the late Romain (Fat) and Hattie Houseknecht Feigles. She graduated from Muncy High School in 1960 and retired in December 2008 from Shop-Vac, after 15 years of employment.

Mr. Schell, a native of Muncy, is the son of the late Pauline Poust and William Schell. He graduated from Muncy High School in 1962 and retired in December 2008 from Andritz (Durmetal), Muncy, after 42 years of employment.

They are the parents of five sons, Gregory, Muncy; Keith, Selinsgrove; Bob and Martin Reeder, both of Muncy; and Dana Reeder, Elgin, S.C. There are three granddaughters and four grandsons.

Mr., Mrs. Iva Heise observe 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Iva Heise, Hughesville, observed their 50th wedding anniversary July 16, 2010.

They were married by the Rev. A. Clay Sicher at the Methodist church in Schultzville. They are members of Christ United Methodist Church, Hughesville.

Mrs. Heise, the former Iva Richards, is a native of Newton. She is the daughter of Iva Richards, Bradenton, Fla., and the late Ralph Richards. She graduated from Falls Overfield High School, Falls, in 1959. She retired from the dental office of Dr. John T. Chiao, Hughesville.

Mr. Heise, a native of Falls, is the son of Dorothy and Howard Heise. He graduated from Falls Overfield High School in 1956 and Penn State University, State College, in 1961. He retired in 2001 from the state Department of Transportation, Montoursville, after 40 years of employment.

They are the parents of three daughters, Lynnda Steimling and Donna Stackhouse, both of Hughesville, and Sandra Moreland, Cincinatti, Ohio. There are seven grandchildren.

In honor of their anniversary, a cruise to Bermuda was taken in May. An open house, hosted by their family, is planned for July 11 at their church.
