By Staff | May 27, 2020

Dean E. Schreffler of Muncy observed his 90th birthday on Sunday, May 17. Born in Berrysburg, he is the last of his family of seven to survive.

Dean enjoys woodworking and has made treasure chests and furniture for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pictured with him are a few of the 4,000 wooden crosses he’s made and distributed to churches, nursing homes, and individuals.

He retired from Fry’s Plastics and McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home.

He is a lifetime member of the Herndon Masonic Lodge and Tall Cedars.

Currently, he is serving on the Muncy Creek Township Sewer Authority, and is a member of the Hughesville bocce group. He continues to plant a large vegetable garden.

Being a past active member of Christ Church (Beacon) for several

years, he considers the blessings of prayer and staying active the large parts of his 90 years.

Dean and his wife, Millie, will observe their 30th wedding anniversary later this year.
