Bill and Nancy DeWire of Hughesville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 4, with a party at their sheep farm on Penn Drive. Over 45 of Nancy’s hand made quilts were on display in the barn during the event, which included 120 of the couple’s family and friends.

Guests were also able to enjoy Bill’s large collection of antique hit-and-miss gas engines, old farm equipment and vehicles, including a 1937 John Deere tractor and a 1930 Model A Ford.

Bill is retired from IBM and currently serves as a Wolf Township Supervisor, while Nancy continues to run the sheep farm.

The anniversary party was organized by the couple’s four children and their spouses, and their 11 grandchildren.
