.SHORT TERM /11 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM WEDNESDAY/…

PREVIOUS AND CURRENT THINKING IN GOOD AGREEMENT ON YET ANOTHER

MIXED PRECIPITATION EVENT FOR THE AREA ON WEDNESDAY. LOW PRESSURE

WILL TRACK NORTHEASTWARD INTO THE EASTERN GREAT LAKES BY WEDNESDAY

EVENING. PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AROUND DAYBREAK ACROSS THE

WEST AND SOUTHWEST AS SNOW…SPREADING QUICKLY EASTWARD AND

NORTHWARD THROUGHOUT THE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON. A LAYER OF

WARMER AIR ALOFT WILL CAUSE THE SNOW TO MIX WITH SLEET AND

FREEZING RAIN SOUTH OF ROUTE 22 AND WEST OF INTERSTATE 99…WHILE

A PERIOD OF SNOW AND SLEET CHANGES TO PLAIN RAIN BY AFTERNOON

ACROSS THE LOWER SUSQUEHANNA RIVER VALLEY. FURTHER NORTH…SNOW

OVER THE CENTRAL MOUNTAINS WILL MIX WITH AND CHANGE TO SLEET BY

AFTERNOON AND THEN MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO FREEZING RAIN BEFORE

TAPERING TO DRIZZLE OR FREEZING DRIZZLE BY MID AFTERNOON. ACROSS

THE FAR NORTH…SNOW WILL PREDOMINATE BUT WILL MIX WITH SLEET

DURING THE AFTERNOON. OVERALL…MOST PLACES WILL SEE 1-2 INCHES

EXCEPT FOR THE LOWER SUSQ. RIVER VALLEY WHICH WILL SEE LESS THAN

AN INCH OF SNOW BEFORE THE QUICK CHANGEOVER TO SLEET AND THEN RAIN.

FOR THE ABOVE REASONS HAVE ISSUED WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES FOR

ALL BUT THE LOWER LOWER SUSQUEHANNA RIVER VALLEY FROM 10Z WED

THROUGH 06Z THU. IF FREEZING RAIN BECOMES MORE LIKELY ACROSS THE

LOWER SUSQ…THE ADVISORY CAN BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE THEM.
