Armed robbery in Muncy

Security camera footage shows an armed robbery at Sam's Place Lottery and Tobacco, 1374 E. Penn St., Muncy, a week ago, on Wednesday, March 18.

MUNCY – Investigations continue for an armed robbery that occurred last Wednesday evening in Muncy Creek Township.

Trooper Angela Bieber, public information officer at the Montoursville barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police, said a masked gunman robbed a clerk at Sam’s Place Lottery and Tobacco, 1374 E. Penn St., Muncy Creek Township, making off with an undetermined amount of cash, just before 10 p.m. on March 18.

The gunman “entered the business wearing a blue ‘PSU’ sweatshirt, baggy gray sweatpants, a camo face mask, dark ski goggles with white trim, black gloves and gray sneakers,” Bieber said.

“Brandishing a silver handgun, the gunman pointed it at the cashier and demanded money,” Bieber said, adding that the robber brought a red drawstring bag. The man fled with an unknown amount of cash, Bieber said.
