A woman was injured when her Nissan Rogue and another vehicle collided in front of the White Deer Motel on Route 15 in Clinton Township late Thursday morning, April 16. Brittany Johnson, 27, of Watsontown, was treated at UPMC Williamsport, state police said. The other driver was Linda Bower, of Montgomery, police said.
A Hughesville man who took a minor with him to sell stolen scrap metal recently was sentenced to county jail time. Under four separate criminal dockets, Tyrone B. Sanders, 22, of Hughesville, was sentenced on for several felonies and misdemeanors, according to Lycoming County Courthouse records. Sanders was recorded on a trail camera stealing scrap metal from an outbuilding in Montgomery Borough on Sept. 26, 2019, according to an affidavit by Montgomery Borough Police Department Patrolman Kenneth C. Flewelling. The next day, on Sept. 27, Sanders took a juvenile with him to Staiman’s Recycling in Williamsport to sell the stolen items, State Police at Montoursville reported.
State police continue to investigate the death of a 3-month-old baby girl who was pronounced dead at UPMC Muncy about 12:50 p.m. Sunday, April 19. The infant had been brought to the hospital in a private vehicle from 181 Old Glade Run Road about 11:50 a.m. The Lycoming County Coroner’s Office also is assisting with the investigation. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, but no results have been made public at time of publication.
Dakota L. Magargle, a 20-year-old Pennsdale man, recently pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault and was sentenced to time in Lycoming County Prison. Magargle was arrested by Muncy Township Police Department for sexually abusing a victim under the age of 16 on June 8, 2019, court records show. Magargle pleaded guilty to one second degree felony count of statutory sexual assault: 4-8 years older, on April 13, 2020. One third degree felony count of corruption of minors, and one second degree misdemeanor count of indecent assault person less than 16 years age were dismissed. Lycoming County President Judge Nancy L. Butts sentenced Magargle to a minimum of six months and a maximum of 24 months less one day in county prison, with credit for time served from Jan. 28, 2020, to present.
