HUGHESVILLE – Gavin Steele, 20, of Unityville, died of injuries he suffered Friday night in a one-car crash on Route 118, just east of L Harman Road, in Moreland Township, according to officials.

A nursing supervisor at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, said Steele died Saturday, July 11 from his injuries he suffered in the crash, which occurred about 6:15 p.m.

State police said Steele lost control of his 2007 Subaru Outback as he was heading west of the two-lane road. The car crossed the eastbound lane and traveled off the south side of the road before striking an embankment and overturning, police said.

Steele, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown out of the vehicle as it was flipping over, police said. The car landed on its

driver side in a ditch, police said.
