A crash occurred on Jan. 15 on US Hwy. 220 at its intersection with Auchmuty Road involving Danielle Magaro, Hughesville. She was traveling south on 220 when she lost control on a slush/snow covered roadway and crossed into the oncoming traffic lane (north bound lane). Magaro jerked it to the right to avoid oncoming traffic, crossed the south bound land and departed the roadway to the west at the intersection of Auchmuty Road. As Magaro departed the roadway it struck a large snowbank and a Muncy Township stopsign and street name sign.
Taylor Fetzer, age 62, Picture Rocks, was found unresponsive on the ground beside his tractor trailer, which was running, at Kepner’s Farm Supply, Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County, on Jan. 15. The victim was suppose to be driving the truck to West Virginia for arrival at 0800 hours on same date. There was no indication of criminal activity as the cause of death. The Lycoming County Coroner indicated the victim appears to have died from natural causes just prior to entering the truck and collapsed outside of the truck.
A verbal altercation occurred in Loyalsock Township on Jan. 23. The following people were involved: Larry McKee, 24, Pennsdale; William Blair, 27, Williamsport; and Jared Wolfe, 24, Montoursville; Jonathan Blair, 27, Williamsport; Joshua Bumgardner, 25, Bloomsburg; and Leslie Bowman, Cogan Station. McKee struck W. Blair in the face with a pint brush. W. Blair then slapped McKee in the head with his hand. J. Blair then struck Wolfe in the chest and face with a paint brush. Wolfe then struck J. Blair in the mouth with his fist. W. Blair grabbed Bumgardner around the neck with his arm. Prior to departing residence, W. Blair then pushed Bowman in the chest with his and. Non-Traffic Citations were filed against the above.
A crash occurred on Jan. 16 in Muncy Township involving Jennifer Youmans (Unit 1) and Mallory Walker (Unit 2). Both units were traveling eastbound on I-180. Unit 1 was attempting to pull off the north shoulder to use a cross over just past the Halls Pennsdale exit. As a result of her slowing down to use the cross over, Unit 2 struck the rear end of Unit 1. Unit 2 came to final rest in the median facing northeast, Unit 1 pulled off along the north shoulder of I-180 eastbound.
On Dec. 28, 2008, three white males in a burgundy colored Chrysler attempted to break into the Dragon Palace Chinese Restaurant on John Brady Drive in Muncy Creek Township. They fled when a neighbor yelled at them.
On Dec. 23, 2008 PSP Montoursville responded to SR 15 Northbound, near B&C Auto in Clinton Township for the report of an abandoned vehicle in the roadway. Upon arriving, the operator of the vehicle, Steven P. Tawney, 50, of Montgomery, was located and appeared to be in an intoxicated state. Tawney was taken to Williamsport Hospital for a legal blood draw. Tawney was charged with DUI and associated summary violations.
