MONTGOMERY – An area man is accused of assaulting a woman Tuesday at the Montgomery home they shared, where he allegedly threw an air conditioner out the window.

State police said Cody Lee Steinback, 18, of 71 Melvina St. choked, punched and kicked Meagan A. Heintzleman at 3:41 a.m.

Steinback is also accused of damaging the air conditioner and smashing a cell phone, both items belongings to Meagan’s mother, Laurie Heintzleman.

Charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, harassment and underage drinking, Steinback was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge C. Roger McRae.

He was committed to the county prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
