Hughesville man accused of raping girl
HUGHESVILLE – A Hughesville man is charged by state police for allegedly raping a girl at his 44 S. Second St. home in the borough. Ulysses V. Hoffman, 39, allegedly had unwanted sexual intercourse with the 13-year-old girl, when he reportedly gave her marijuana on Aug. 8 and alcohol on July 4. A Williamsport Hospital nurse informed police there is evidence that a sexual assault occurred.
Charged with two counts each of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and sexual assault, Hoffman was arraigned Sunday by District Judge C. Roger McRae. In lieu of $125,000 bail, Hoffman was committed to the county prison.
