Man convicted of heroin deal near Muncy
Jurors in Lycoming County found a Montgomery man guilty of delivering heroin despite his protests on the stand that he knew nothing about it.
Keith Habersham, 31, of 240 N. Main St. was found guilty of delivery of heroin, criminal use of a cellular phone and criminal conspiracy in the trial before Judge Kenneth D. Brown.
Habersham was arrested by drug enforcement police after a controlled buy of heroin was arranged between a confidential informant and Tricia Marie Derr.
Derr agreed to meet with the informant in the 1000 block of East Penn Street in Muncy Creek Township for a transaction of $180. Derr and Habersham arrived a short time later with nine bags of heroin.
At the trial, Habersham, represented by attorney Roan F. Confer Jr., said he was there but didn’t know what was going on.
“Jurors had to make a leap and review physical evidence because Habersham claimed he didn’t do the deal,” Assistant District Attorney Paul J. Petcavage said.
“Derr’s case is pending,” Petcavage said.
Habersham is to be sentenced next month.
