A Unityville man faces charges for allegedly stealing jewelry and money from friends’ homes, according to state police.

Montana M. Dunkleberger, 21, is alleged to have stolen $865 worth jewelry from the home of Sharon Shinn and her daughter Rebecca Lee Shinn on Ruben Kehrer Road in Fairfield Township while the two allowed him to stay at their house between Oct. 1 and Nov. 21, police said.

Dunkleberger also is accused of stealing $500 from Zachary Shaffer’s home on Shick Road, also in the township, while the two worked on Shaffer’s truck on Nov. 14, police said.

Dunkleberger faces a felony charge of convicted felon not to possess a firearm for allegedly selling a rifle to Sauer’s Trading Post in South Williamsport for $75 on Oct. 30, police said.

Charged with that offense and three counts each of theft and receiving stolen property, Dunkleberger was arraigned Friday before District Judge Kenneth T. Schriner Jr. and committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
