Northumberland County drug ring broken
SUNBURY – Northumberland-Montour Drug Task Force agents working in conjunction with the state attorney general’s office have been serving warrants for 12 alleged drug dealers, Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Rosini said Tuesday.
“Three of the individuals arrested were from Philadelphia and three were from Reading,” Rosini said. “They are alleged to be major suppliers of crack cocaine and marijuana in the Shamokin area.”
By late Tuesday morning, Rosini said all but one of the defendants were in police custody. Attorney General Tom Corbett said agents seized about 640 bags of heroin, 25 grams of crack cocaine and $2,000 in cash. The street value of the drugs seized is $15,300.
