Montgomery Firefighters called to feed mill

By Staff | Jan 19, 2010

Volunteer firefighters from several companies responded to Wenger’s Feed Mill at 6829 Route 405 in Clinton Township when a piece of machinery caught fire about 12:15 a.m. last Thursday, but the flames caused minimal damage, officials said.

Dennis Miller, Clinton Township assistant chief, said a large bin filled with feed caught fire, and firefighters had to disassemble part of the bin to extinguish the flames.

Crews were on the scene for about three hours. There were no reports of injuries, and the accidental fire was confined to the bin, which Miller said was about 6 feet tall and 6 feet wide.
