Police: Man allegedly burglarized father’s home

By Staff | Feb 23, 2010

A Muncy man has been jailed on two warrants, including one charging him with allegedly burglarizing his father’s Washington Township home on Sulpher Springs Road between Nov. 17 and Nov. 19.

State police allege that Cody Steinback, 19, of 113 S. Main St., along with his brother, broke into Guy James Steinback’s home and stole two handguns.

In that case, police have charged Cody with burglary, felony trespassing, theft and receiving stolen property and firearms violations. Because a protection from abuse order had been filed against him, he was prohibited from having any guns, police said.

The second warrant against the teen has charged him with simple assault and harassment for allegedly beating up Paul Williams outside Williams’ home on Boak Avenue in Wolf Township on Jan. 7.

Following his arraignment Thursday before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on the two sets of charges, he joined his brother, Seth, at the Lycoming County Prison after being unable to post $20,000 bail.
