Man homeless after fire

By Staff | Mar 9, 2010

MUNCY – A fire destroyed a Muncy Creek Township trailer home and all of its contents according to township assistant fire Chie, Scott Delany.

Bob Fogelman, who lived alone at 2338 Musser Lane, was not home when the fire was reported to Delany around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, February 28.

Delaney said that someone passing through the rural area called an emergency dispatcher when they saw the flames. When the firefighters arrived, the structure was fully engulfed.

The woodstove is believed to have caused what Delany suspects is an accidental fire.

He said Fogelman lit wood in the burner around 7 p.m. the night before when he left the home, just south of Muncy Borough.

The fire got out of control sometime later. The dollar amount of the damage is unknown.

Delany said Fogelman had no insurance for the structure or contents.

No injuries were reported. Fogelman is staying with family, according to Delany. Firefighters were at the home for more than three hours.

Departments assisting the Muncy Creek firefighters included Keystone Hook and Ladder, Muncy Township, Picture Rocks and Montoursville’s Willing Hands Co.
