By Staff | Jan 11, 2011

A farm tractor that reportedly caught fire on Sunday night inside a barn could not be saved, but volunteer firefighters were successful in stopping the flames from consuming the structure, according to reports from the scene.

The fire that broke out just before 7 p.m. inside 2477 Route 220 in Pennsdale already was spreading to the back of the barn when firefighters arrived on the scene.

Firefighters worked quickly to knock down much of the fire, bringing the blaze under control in about 20 minutes and saved the building from total ruin. The name of the property owner was not available.

In addition to Muncy Township, firefighters from Hughesville, Picture Rocks and Muncy Creek Township responded to the fire.
