City man faces theft charges in borough
MUNCY – A Williamsport man faces theft-related charges after he was caught allegedly stealing scrap metal from Richard Umpstead’s garage at 401 S. Main St., according to borough Police Chief Richard J. Sutton.
Gary Thomas Green Jr., of 1907 W. Third St., was apprehended on a nearby alley about 10 a.m. with a piece of copper sheeting that he allegedly stole from the garage, Sutton said.
Police allege Green, 45, also stole scrap from the garage on May 23. Following his arraignment before District Judge C. Roger McRae on two counts each of felony trespassing, theft and receiving stolen property, he was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
