Arrests made for theft at gun shop
HUGHESVILLE – State police arrested two more teenagers in connection with the July 11 break-in at Dixie’s Gunshop at 230 N. Railroad St. in Hughesville.
Arraigned before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley in Jersey Shore were Evan A. Charles, 18, of 50 Mohawk Drive, and Wyatt E. Bower, also 18, of 211 N. Railroad St.
The two face charges of burglary, felony trespassing, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, conspiracy and firearm violations. They were jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail each.
Charles and Bower join Nick Andrew Kissinger, also 18, of 289 Robbins Road, Muncy, who was arrested last week on identical charges and remains behind bars at the county prison.
Six handguns were stolen. Four days after the burglary, Kissinger offered to sell one of the handguns to a friend for $400 or all six of them for $2500 police reported.
The Moreland Township resident did not know that he was talking to a confidential informant. Kissinger was pulled over last Monday afternoon and he soon admitted to the burglary and told police where the remaining stolen handguns were hidden. He was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $125,000 bail.
