Suspected drug dealer behind bars

By Staff | Feb 21, 2012

MUNCY – Donovan Michael Lyons, 19, of 7 E. Water St., Apartment 1, Muncy, is being charged with delivery or possession with intent to deliver controlled substances and corruption of minors after allegedly attempting to sell his prescription pills.

According to an affidavit, when Cindy Appleman noticed a suspicious text message from Lyons on her child’s cellphone, which simply said “Yo,” she grew curious.

“Yo, what up?” Appleman wrote back.

“Chilling here feeling like crap, I got those pills if your (sic) interested,” Lyons allegedly responded.

Realizing she had the opportunity to help police catch someone attempting to sell drugs to minors, Appleman set up a time and location to purchase the pills. She then contacted Chief Richard J. Sutton of the Muncy Borough Police Department and told him about the meeting she had arranged, according to the affidavit.

Police went to the meeting along with Appleman and were able to search Lyons at the scene. He was found to have five Adderall pills, six Vyvance, and seven oxycodone, according to police.

According to the affidavit, Donovan provided police with a written statement that read, “I tried to sell my ADHD medication and oxycodone for $5 each today.”

Also entered into the investigation were Donovan’s and Appleman’s son’s cellphones containing the text message conversation, according to court records.

Donovan was arraigned by District Judge Jon Kemp Monday. Bail was set at $5,000.
