PENNSDALE – A Williamsport woman struggled with security officers and yelled obscenities and racial slurs when she was caught allegedly trying to steal nearly $1,000 worth of merchandise from the Lycoming Mall on Friday afternoon, Muncy Township police said.

Michelle T. Vann, 24, of 812 Elmira St., was caught in the parking lot with merchandise valued at $983, police aid.

“I’m going to kill you when I get out,” police allege Vann yelled at a security officer.

When she was placed in the back of a police cruiser, she spat on the windows, township Police Chief Christopher McKibben said in an affidavit.

Vann already has two shoplifting convictions and was already wanted on a bench warrant when arrested, McKibben said.

She was arraigned before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on charges of felony shoplifting and receiving stolen property and jailed in lieu of $15,000 bail.
