LAIRDSVILLE – A pipeline worker helping to install water lines at a gaswell pad site on Beaver Run Road was killed Saturday afternoon when a dump truck that was backing up ran over him, Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said.

The worker, Timothy J. Wehr, 26, of Cambridge, Ohio, was killed instantly and died of injuries to the upper body from the crushing, Kiessling said. He was employed by Integrity Pipeline Services.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to 222 Beaver Run Road, a little more than a mile east of here, in Franklin Township about 1:45 p.m. for a pedestrian struck.

Emergency responders were on scene within minutes, but the victim had already succumbed to his injuries, Lairdsville Fire Chief Michael Lunger said.

Jerold Ross, the county’s chief deputy coroner, pronounced Wehr dead at the scene. The body was taken to the forensic center at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

State police are investigating. The driver of the truck was not available Saturday night.
