UNITYVILLE – An elderly woman has died of injuries she suffered a week ago in a one-car crash on Mordan Hollow Road near hear, according to a nursing supervisor at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Stella V. Kessler, 87, of Unityville, died Monday, July 16 of her injuries.

In a news release issued, state police said Kessler was a passenger in a Buick Rendezvous that went off the road and crashed into a large tree, just south of Boyer Lane in Jordan Township, about 3 p.m. on July 11.

The driver, Hazel A. Steinruck, 76, also of Unityville, was taken by ambulance to Bloomsburg Hospital for treatment of injuries. A nursing supervisor there said she was not permitted to release any information about Steinruck.
