A 17-year-old who went on a crime spree between May 15 and May 20 was sentenced as an adult in Lycoming County Court Wednesday before Judge Dudley N. Anderson.

Wesley David Lebarron, of 152 Boak Ave., Lot 12, Hughesville, pleaded guilty on July 7 on several charges including theft of a motor vehicle, six counts of theft from a motor vehicle, two counts of criminal trespass, burglary and fleeing.

Anderson sentenced the minor to one to two years in the Lycoming County Pre-Release Center followed by 11 years of probation.

Lebarron also was ordered to pay back more than $30,000 to the many victims from whom he stole and serve 300 hours of community service.

William Lyter, 70, of Clarkstown, said his 2001 Pontiac Aztec was stolen from his home. The retired federal prison correctional officer said his wife went to take the couple’s cat for a walk one morning and she said the car was missing.

Lyter said he still was paying on the vehicle when it was stolen.

“I don’t feel quite as safe as I used to,” he said. “I’m just a little more suspicious and cautious.”

Anderson said Lebarron was sentenced below the state sentencing guidelines because of his young age and the “extraordinary long period of supervision (he) will be under.”

But his plea agreement didn’t stop the judge from lecturing Lebarron.

“This is the last break that you’ll ever receive from any court,” Anderson said, calling his charges “abominable.” “If you do anything in the next 13 years … anything that violates the law … they will resentence you on all these things and there will be no kindness involved. And what they will give you is state prison.”

Without the plea agreement, Anderson said Lebarron’s charges were enough to put him in state prison for dozens of years.
