MONTGOMERY – A 36-year-old intoxicated woman has been arrested on assault-related charges for allegedly driving her car twice in the direction of a crowd of people in the parking lot of the LRB Roadhouse early Sunday morning, borough police alleged in court papers.

No one was injured either time, police said.

Upon leaving the business at 140 Miller Ave. about 2:20 a.m., Kristy Ann Phillips got in her Pontiac Grand Am and “pointed the vehicle toward a group of seven or eight individuals, driving it straight into the group,” Sgt. Larry Wilcox said in an affidavit.

The pedestrians quickly scattered, but the car crashed into a parked pickup truck, which was pushed into a Jeep, Wilson said. One person was “wedged between both vehicles,” Wilcox said.

Phillips then backed her car up and then again drove toward the same group, striking both parked vehicles a second time, Wilcox said. Phillips then fled the scene, he added.

Minutes before the crashes in the parking lot, Phillips, while inside the Roadhouse, picked up a pool ball and threw it at the jukebox, causing it to break, Wilcox said.

“The bartender then told her that she was ‘shut off’ and would have to leave if she didn’t settle down,” Wilcox said he was told.

Police went to her home at 103 W. Houston Ave. and found her car in the driveway. Officers knocked on her door, but no one answered, Wilcox said.

Phillips was arraigned Monday before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on charges of aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering, driving under the influence of intoxicants, accidents involving damage to unattended vehicles (hit-run), criminal mischief and two other summary violations. She was released on $30,000 bail.
