Man on probation for lewd behavior at Hughesville Church Camp
A 21-year-old Allentown man who asked an 8-year-old girl to take off her swimsuit and urinate for him at Hughesville Camp during a church event last summer will be on probation for five years.
James Andreas told the court he didn’t know why he asked the girl to undress and urinate while they were both standing in Wolf Run, and that he was off his medication for bipolar disorder at the time.
“You don’t understand what caused you to do it, and there was no touching,” Judge Marc Lovecchio said. “You don’t understand what happened, but it was a very scary thing that you did, the kind of thing that sends shivers up the community’s spine.”
Because Andreas is living with and assisting a 38-year-old man in Allentown who is losing his sight, Lovecchio saw fit to accept the state’s plea agreement that only gave Andreas probation for charges of corruption of minors and harassment, and transfer his supervision to Lehigh County.
