MUNCY – A 42-year-old Moreland Township man was jailed after allegedly punching his wife during a disturbance at the couple’s home on Laidacker Road, state police said.

Steven Jack Barlett, was charged with simple assault and harassment as a result of the disturbance on March 17, police said. He also was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, but police did not identify the controlled substance other than to say it was “green and leafy.”

Following his arraignment that night before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley, Barlett was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
