Woman arrives to prison with marijuana
MUNCY – A Berks County woman faces drug charges after arriving at the state Correctional Institution at Muncy with marijuana in her vehicle, according to state police.
Kristi Leah Smialek, 35, of Boyertown, is alleged to have 4.9 grams of the controlled substance when she drove onto the grounds at 6454 Route 405 in Clinton Township about 8:50 a.m. on April 14, police said.
Following her arraignment later that day on charges of possession of contraband, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Smialek was committed to the Lycoming County Prison, but has since been released on $15,000 bail.
