PENNSDALE – A Union County man faces charges for allegedly stealing cash and merchandise from Ulta Beauty while employed at the Lycoming Crossing business during the first two weeks in March, according to Muncy Township police.

Matthew John Botsford, 23, of White Deer, stole cash and merchandise totaling $193 from the business, police alleged in court papers.

Charged with theft by deception and shoplifting, Botsford has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge Jon E. Kemp.

A second criminal complaint also involving Ulta Beauty was filed against customer Ashley Shannon McCluskey, 29, of 662 Krouse Ave., Williamsport, who is accused of stealing twice from the store, police alleged.

McCluskey was caught trying to steal $131 worth of merchandise on April 16, police said.

The same woman allegedly stole $17 worth of merchandise from the store on April 10, police said. She, too, has been sent a summons to see Kemp.
