Teen faces assault, harassment charges
HUGHESVILLE – An 18-year-old man faces charges for allegedly throwing his mother onto the concrete patio during a disturbance at the family’s Wolf Township home, according to state police.
Mitchell Thomas Hans has been charged with simple assault and harassment for throwing Shonny Lynn Miller onto the concrete patio, causing “the right side of her head to bounce off the concrete” at 111 Richard Ave. about 9 p.m. on June 12, Trooper Jared King said in court papers.
Miller admitted to King that she “got in her son’s face” and she apparently became upset after the son “pushed her in the chest.” She started to go at her son’s neck with her hands when Hans, who “has a history of anger issues and depression,” grabbed her and slammed her to the ground, King was told.
Following his arraignment hours after the incident, Hans initially was committed to the Lycoming County Prison, but since has been released on $7,000 bail. He already has waived his preliminary hearing.
