80-year-old woman accused of felony theft
An elderly woman faces a felony charge after allegedly stealing two shirts from Sears in the Lycoming Mall.
Marlene Winifred Corson, 80, of 909 Dutchtown Road in Muncy, faces a felony retail theft charge.
On July 13, Susanne Stetor, loss prevention officer for Sears, contacted state police to report she had watched Corson remove two shirts from a sales rack in the store and stuff them into her purse.
Stetor told police she stopped Corson before she could leave the store.
When they arrived at the scene, officers recovered the two shirts, which were worth about $75, from Corson’s purse, according to the affidavit.
Corson was arraigned before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on Aug. 2. She has since been released on $7,500 bail.
