UNITYVILLE – An elderly woman was injured critically when the car in which she was riding crashed into a utility pole at Route 42 and Unityville Road Extension in Jordan Township about 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 5, reported state police.

Patricia B. Brainin, 83, of Unityville, was reported in critical condition in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The vehicle was driven by her husband, Carl Brainin, 82, who was treated and later discharged.
