HUGHESVILLE – An 18-year-old Wolf Township man has been arrested and jailed on charges he allegedly assaulted and robbed another man at gunpoint near North Fifth and East Walnut streets early last Monday morning, according to state police.

After befriending the victim and offering to help him find a place to stay, Ryan Michael Foster lured the man down a dirt driveway and then allegedly took him “to the ground by the throat,” telling him he was being robbed, police were told.

Foster pulled out a handgun and told the victim, Justin Flick, that “he would shoot him,” Trooper Ryan Golla reported in an alleged affidavit.

Foster then rummaged through Flick’s pockets and pulled out cigarettes and some cash, Golla said he was told.

After the assault, Foster ordered Flick to get up and walk away, Golla said. Flick bolted south for about a block, where he called 911 about 1:50 a.m.

Golla said that the two men had been together earlier in the evening at a woman’s home, and that Foster had offered to help Flick get a ride home, or find him a place to stay for the night since he could not stay at the woman’s house.

Foster, of 152 Boak Ave., was arraigned last Tuesday afternoon before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on charges of robbery, terroristic threats, theft, receiving stolen property, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault, recklessly endangering and harassment.

He was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $275,000 bail.
