HUGHESVILLE – A Muncy man was killed Sunday, April 13 about 6:30 p.m. when his pickup truck swerved off the roadway on Route 118 in Wolf Township, state police said.

State police identified the man as Lynn Minier, 64. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traveling west in a red Chevrolet Silverado, the man entered the eastbound lane to pass another vehicle. As he re-entered the westbound lane, he lost control on loose gravel and the vehicle turned sideways, landing overturned in a ditch on the opposite side of the road, according to state police Trooper Daniel Young. Upon impact, the truck knocked over a tree.

Young said the man was not wearing a seat belt.

A section of Route 118 was closed to traffic for some time as rescuers extricated the man from the wreckage and state police investigated the crash. Fire police and later employees from the state Department of Transportation were on scene redirecting motorists via Penn Drive and Gregg Run Road.
