Two Montgomery men are being linked to a series of commercial burglaries between Nov. 23 and March 13.

Police have charged Dakota Lee Patchen, 22, of 77 Thomas Ave., and Joseph Edward Gibson, 33, of 58 Broad St., with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property after they allegedly forcibly entered a number of places.

Dates of incidents were between Dec. 18 and 19, between Dec. 27 and 29, between Feb. 4 and 5, between March 1 and 28, and March 8, stealing $86 in cash.

On May 7, Gibson allegedly told the state police in Montoursville that he and Patchen were responsible for burglaries at LRB Country Roadhouse and the American Legion Post 251. Gibson also said Patchen spoke about robbing Thad’s Place and denied being involved with that burglary, police said. Gibson denied his involvement in the other incidents. On May 27, Patchen told police that he and Gibson committed all of the burglaries.

According to the affidavit, Patchen said that he committed the burglaries to support his drug addiction. and that Gibson participated for “the adrenaline rush and the money.”

Both men were arraigned recently before District Judge Jon E. Kemp and were each jailed in lieu of $250,000 bail.
