PENNSDALE – After he was confronted about removing money and a credit card from a woman’s purse that had been left behind inside a family restroom at Sam’s Club at the Lycoming Mall, Robin Wayne Neary admitted to taking the cash but denied taking the card, according to Muncy Township police.

“I really didn’t see a problem with taking the money. I didn’t take the the credit card. I’m not stupid,” the 41-year-old Orangeville resident told police.

The victim, Connie Piercy, had left the wallet in the restroom on June 21, but Wayne turned it in after finding it, police said. However, the woman reported that an estimated $52 in cash and a credit card were missing from the wallet, police said.

Charged with theft and receiving stolen property, Neary has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge Jon E. Kemp.
