Fire on Boak Avenue displaces 1
HUGHESVILLE – One person was left homeless after a living room fire broke out in his mobile home at 101 Boak Ave. in Wolf Township about 1:20 p.m. Saturday, according to Hughesville fire Lt. Mark Winder.
The tenant, whose identity was not released Saturday night, was not home when the fire broke out, Winder said, adding he believed a neighbor called it in to the 911 center.
Light smoke was visible from the mobile home when firefighters arrived on the scene. The bulk of the fire was knocked down within 15 minutes, Winder said. There were no reports of injuries.
It was believed the tenant was staying with relatives or friends. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
In addition to Hughesville, volunteer firefighters from Picture Rocks, Muncy Area and Pennsdale responded to the fire.
