County man with criminal record had 25 firearms
MONTGOMERY – Because of his criminal history, 53-year-old Bruce Anthony Yocum is prohibited from possessing a firearm at any time, according to state police.
However, when sheriff deputies went to his Clinton Township home at 476 Pinchtown Road on the afternoon of Oct. 7, they discovered 25 firearms inside the property, including 14 rifles, seven shotguns and four handguns, police said.
Sheriff deputies went to the house to serve “a temporary protection from abuse order,” which includes the routine confiscation of any and all firearms, police said.
Yocum’s criminal history includes a conviction of unlawful restraint, one of several offenses that prohibits a convict from ever owning or handing a firearm, police said.
Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman on a felony charge of illegal possession of a firearm, Yocum was released on $15,000 bail.
