Fatal crash on Tallow Bottom Road
PENNSDALE – One man was flown to Williamsport Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries he suffered when his SUV went over an embankment and overturned in the 600 block of Tallow Bottom Road, just off of Quaker Church Road in Mill Creek Township about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6 according to Pennsdale Fire Chief Scott Oldweiler.
The driver died of his injuries, according to Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr.
Following the crash, William Stroup, 72, of 107 S. Market St., Muncy, was pronounced dead at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center of multiple upper body injuries.
State police investigated the crash but had no information to release as of last Wednesday night.
Volunteer firefighters at the scene said the victim was driving an SUV that went over an embankment and overturned. It was unknown what direction Stroup was traveling when his vehicle went off the road.
Emergency responders said road conditions at the time were extremely slippery.
