MUNCY – An inmate at the State Correctional Institution at Muncy on Route 405 faces assault charges for allegedly scratching a corrections officer on the right hand intentionally with her fingernails about 11:20 a.m. Jan. 20, according to state police.

Deneshya Augusta Poole, 34, has been arraigned before District Judge Jon E. Kemp on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct. She was recommitted in lieu of $200,000 bail.

No information was available on why she is an inmate at the prison.
