Man charged with theft at department store
PENNSDALE – A 25-year-old Hughesville man accused of shoplifting at Target at Lycoming Crossing has been charged with a second set of offenses filed by state police, according to court papers at the office of District Judge Jon E. Kemp.
Concerning the shoplifting case, Muncy Township police have accused Timothy Andrew Savage, of 127 S. Main St., of stealing $700 worth of merchandise on four occasions between Jan. 11 and Feb. 3.
Arraigned last week on misdemeanor charges of shoplifting, receiving stolen property, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia, Savage was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $30,000 bail.
State police have charged him with theft, theft by deception and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a $350 PlayStation 3 console and several video games from Michael Higley’s home at 651 Sunrise Drive in Wolf Township on Sept. 21.
Police allege that after the theft, Savage sold the items to the GameStop at the Lycoming Mall. In this case, he has been sent a summons to appear before Kemp for a preliminary hearing.
